UWIC 15 v BONYMAEN 57
Parc Mawr, Bonymaen is always a difficult place to get a result and so it proved. A proficient home side took control after the students had gone ahead within two minutes as outside half, Nathan Hopkins, dropped a 40 metre goal. Approaching half time a delightful break from scrum half, Lee Williams, led to a try for flanker, Ryan Harris, converted by centre, Matt McClean.
At half time trailing 26-10 UWIC were still in touch but then the home side drew away playing an expansive game which proved difficult to counter.
Full back, Martyn Thomas, completed UWIC's scoring with a late consolation try. This was not one of UWIC's better performances but they were up against a more experienced and well drilled side that dominated possession. Worryingly also were injuries to Peter de Snyder, Nathan Hopkins and Jon Watkins.
