The victorious UWIC squad celebrate in typical "Archers" style

UWIC RFC started the 20010/2011 Season at the Invitational Treorchy 10's on Saturday 14th August. This was the first time the players had been involved in any match situation since starting their pre-season training in July.

Director of Rugby Chris Davey took 2 young squad's to the tournament with many wearing UWIC colours for the first time.

6 teams attended, and each played one another, with the UWIC team winning 3 out of their 4 matches.  In the final, they played  Gilfach Goch RFC. The final saw UWIC win by 33 pts to nil. Gilfach Goch had just beaten the UWIC Archers in the semi final . The Archers had shown pluck and determination in reaching the semi final by beating the home side Treorchy.

UWIC retained the trophy for the 2nd Year running.
